Quite possibly the most well-known rice dish from India, biryani can be found throughout the country, though there are subtle variations from region to region. But one thing is consistent: the process to assemble it is long and complex.

This treasured recipe transforms biryani into a tasty and delicious dish. This meal is made of fragrant basmati rice, tender spiced beef or chicken or lamb or shrimp or Beyond Beef (plant based vegan / vegetarian option), authentic indian spices, vegetables and onions, and when slow cooked it maintains the same authentic flavors and textures of the traditional version.
Instructions:
Thaw freezer meal overnight in refrigerator or in the morning in cold water.
Add the contents of freezer bag to crockpot.
Add water according to number of servings. (1/4 cup per serving for this meal)
Cook Rice on Stove Top.
Stove top Cooking:Add content to pot
Add appropriate amount of water - Ratio is 1 to 1.5 (1 cup of rice to 1.5 cups of water)
For Single Serving (1/4 cup of Rice)
Bring 3/8's of cup (0.375) of water and the contents of the bag (rice and seasonings) to the boil
Turn down and simmer for 14 mins to Al Dente, 15 mins to normal, 16 mins to soft Remove from heat and let Stand for 5
with fork
Slow Cooker:
Cook on “low” setting for 3 - 4 hours in a 6-quart crockpot or 4-6 hours in a 2-quart crockpot. (make sure your slow cooker is between a quarter to three quarters filled, any less the sauce will burn and any more the meal may not cook in time)
Pressure Cooker: 4 - 6 mins thawed out, 7-8 mins if from frozen
Serving Suggestion: Serve with Raita and a green salad.
