WHAT IS OLLA DE CARNE?

Olla de carne is the ultimate pork or beef stew of Costa Rica. Well more of a meat soup.

It consists of organic grass fed beef or pork sirloin roast that is slowly cooked with vegetables (purple carrots) and roots (red potatoes, golden beets, parsnips) to give a tasty, very aromatic broth, with meats and vegetables that are melting and delicious. It is a very comforting dish, served with white rice: one of the must-haves in Costa Rican cuisine. Serve with white rice or cauliflower rice and Salsa Lizano

Instructions:
Thaw freezer meal overnight in refrigerator or in the morning in cold water.
Add the contents of freezer bag to crockpot.
Add water according to number of servings. (1/2 cup per serving for stew/soups.)

Slow Cooker: Cook on “low” setting for 6 - 8 hours in a 6-quart crockpot or 8-10 hours in a 4-quart crockpot. (make sure your slow cooker is between a quarter to three quarters filled, any less the sauce will burn and any more the meal may not cook in time)

Pressure Cooker: 15 - 16 mins thawed out, 17-18 mins if from frozen

Serving Suggestion: Serve with cauliflower rice, ACU rice, salsa lizano and/or green salad.
